Wholesale Pricing

Your FastDesign Online Store has the ability to present different prices for a product, based on the role and privileges of the logged-in user.

*Note, this is not a standard feature for Online Stores - speak with your FastDesign account manager about this feature.

Non-logged in users (anonymous users) will see your standard pricing, but if they have been granted privileges by your site administrator, and they have logged in (authenticated user) then they will see the pricing relating to their 'role'.

Granting users a 'Role'

The firs step in approving a user for a role that enables them to see 'wholesale' pricing, is that user must register with your site. They do this by selecting the register'link on your site. This is sometimes in the header region of your site, but is generally found as a link or tab on the login page found by selecting the Login'link at in the footer of your site.

Once a user has completed the registration process, the administrator for you site will receive an email asking them to approve or decline the request. Within this email is a link Edit User. Selecting this link will take you to the User Page on your site for that user. From here you can see their username and password, and you can also change their role.

In the following image you can see the Status of inactive, and that under Roles that there is a 'wholesale' role.

By marking the Status as Active, selecting the Wholesale role, and saving, the user will get an email confirming they have been approved for access, and when they log in they will see the wholesale pricing associated with the Wholesale role.

Note, your site might have one or more roles labelled something other than Wholesale. Eg. Price Level A, Price Level B... etc.

Be careful granting site admin access , as the user will have full access to your system, and be capable of changing content on your site, view client information, and a whole lot of other potentially unpleasant things.

Setting Wholesale Pricing for a Product

You set the Wholesale pricing on each product. When editing a product you'll see one or more additional fields, depending on if you have more than one wholesale pricing option:

In this example the wholesale price is $85. Note this price must be entered excluding GST.

Once you've edited the pricing, save the product.
